What Fibromyalgia Treatments Work?

Treating Fibromyalgia can be quite a challenge. Not everyone who has fibromyalgia does well with every treatment available. Fibromyalgia treatments usually depend on how symptomatic you are or become.

It’s important to stay on top of the new treatments available since many times, you have to change certain parts of your treatment as some of them become ineffective over time.

There are of course many new drugs available to help with the chronic pain, chronic fatigue, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, depression and all of the other symptoms related to fibromyalgia.

Some of the available drug treatments include;

Cymbalta, which can help, manage some of the pain and depression of fibromyalgia.

Lyrica, helps to calm the overall nerves that cause the pain by being over excited.

Savella, is also helpful in relieving pain and helping with depression.

Tramadol, is yet another drug to help with the chronic pain.

There are many other drugs used and others being developed to help treat this condition. The problem is that most fibromyalgia patients are on multiple drugs not just one. The other issue is that they are not enough to keep the symptoms at bay for any real length of time.

In addition to the traditional drugs, there are also many natural and holistic options out there now that can help tremendously such as;

Aqua therapy and physical therapy can improve the pain and stiffness.

Chiropractic care can help to improve the low back pain associated with fibromyalgia and help to relax the nerves.

Biofeedback is also very helpful. Biofeedback helps how our bodies respond to stress and relieves chronic pain in the process.

Acupuncture done by the right person can help change the chemistry of the brain so that the tolerance to pain increases.

Acupressure can help relax the nerve endings.

Yoga and meditation are helpful in relaxing your overall body and keeping your body calm. Don’t discount the power of yoga and meditation, there is great value it them.

Aerobic exercise has proven to be very helpful in helping with flexibility and movement.

Deep Tissue Massage is also helping tremendously by helping reduce the chronic pain by relaxing the muscles that are constantly flaring up.

These natural alternatives in addition to drug therapy can help fibromyalgia patients to function on a daily basis for the most part.

There are also many herbal therapies available to help with fibromyalgia symptoms, however you should definitely do your research and make sure to tell your doctor which ones you are taking to make sure that they don’t have negative interactions with prescription drugs you may be taking.

Fibromyalgia patients will often have good days and bad days. By using different treatments together, the painful days can be controlled and worked through.

Remember to keep trying different combination of treatments and when a part of it doesn’t seem to be helping than try another.…
